Even though the reason for this meeting was not mentioned, DMK sources said that Stalin is poised to take up the need for forming a third front against the BJP following support from leaders like Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. Except AIADMK and PMK, all the political parties like Congress, CPI, CPM, VCK and other parties are likely to participate in the meeting.  It may be recalled that Stalin in February conducted such an all-party meeting on Cauvery issue and bus fare revision.
