The case pertains to a complaint lodged by Gopi with the CCB alleging that he was duped by Balaji and his associates to the tune of Rs 2.31 crore promising jobs in the State transport corporation.

Based on the complaint, the CCB has registered FIR against the former minister under various sections. Apprehending arrest in connection with the case, Balaji’s counsel made a mention before Justice N Seshasayee to take up the plea on urgent basis. Refusing to entertain the plea, the judge said that he would take up the matter on Monday. Balaji claimed that the case has been foisted against him at the instigation of the ruling party because of political rivalry.
