31 Lady Cadets among 167 inducted into Army from OTA
A total of 167 cadets comprising 136 Gentlemen Cadets and 31 Lady Cadets were inducted into the Army after the passing out parade at the Officers Training Academy (OTA) here on Saturday. The parade was reviewed by Admiral Karambir Singh, Aide-de-Camp, Chief of the Naval Staff.

In addition, eight Gentleman Cadets and three Lady Cadets from friendly foreign countries also graduated from the OTA. They include five Gentleman Cadets and three Lady Cadets from Bhutan, two Gentleman Cadets from Fiji, and one Gentleman Cadet from Papua New Guinea. The passing out parade marked the completion of the SSC-109 and SSC(W)-23 Course for Gentlemen Cadets and Lady Cadets respectively.
The cadets pass through a series of written tests and services selection board interviews in various stages to graduate from the OTA within a duration of about a year.
Admiral Karambir Singh, Aide-de-Camp, Chief of the Naval Staff, presented the Sword of Honour and the Gold Medal to ACA Harpreet Singh, the Silver Medal to Vaibhav Mahajan, and the Bronze Medal to Varun Pratap Singh.
Addressing the newly graduated cadets, Admiral Karambir Singh appreciated the training staff at the OTA and cadets for displaying exceptional standards at the passing out parade.
The Admiral further stated that the cadets should be prepared to face challenges for the security of the nation as they get commissioned in the Army. Admiral Singh also emphasised that the cadets should adhere to the core values taught to them as they become part ofthe Indian Army.
