OTA enthrals with combined display

A combined display of various martial arts and adventure sports was held at the Officers Training Academy (OTA) here in the city on Friday.

The combined display was held as a prelude to the Passing Out Parade of Gentleman and Lady Cadets that is to be held on Saturday.
Officers Training Academy Commandant Lt Gen Sanjeev Kanal was the Chief Guest. 
A defence release said the event started with an equestrian display by cadets and instructors of the Horse Riding Club of the Academy, displaying dexterous breathtaking manoeuvres made possible by a symbiotic understanding between the steeds and the riders.
Indian martial art Kalari Payattu was next in line to garner a thunderous applause from the audience. 
It was followed by a well-coordinated kinesthetic gymnastics display by the cadets and the physical training instructors that projected the high physical training standards of the Academy.  
It was then followed by a spectacular display of martial arts show by North Eastern states choreographed by the Assam Regimental Centre. 
Then, the kaleidoscope shifted focus to the sky with a team of Sky Warriors from the Parachute Regimental Centre displaying their aerial skills of handling the Para Motors. 
The ultimate event was abuzz with the Gatka Display showcased by the Martial Arts performers from the Sikh Light Infantry Regimental Centre. 
The Chief Guest, Lieutenant General Sanjeev Kanal, presented mementos to the participants of the combined display and appreciated their skills in the respective martial art forms, with which the event drew to a close.
