Speaking to reporters, Nehru said, the DMK had alerted the state government about the COVID 19 pandemic right from initial stage but the Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami failed to pay heed to the warning and at the same time, he ridiculed it.

“And now, the virus has spread across and all people have been leading a fearful life”, Nehru said.

Stating that the Chief Minister has no right to criticize DMK President MK Stalin on his statements about the disease, Nehru said, it is the duty of an opposition party to pinpoint the faults of the government and not to play the second fiddle nor laud whatever they do, he said.

Nehru said that the state government has been claiming that the COVID-9 is under control but why the ministers, officials and police personnel are infected with the virus, he asked.

Meanwhile, he said that the Chief Minister had toured Coimbatore and Tiruchy only because of the DMK president’s statements and not for the welfare of the people.

“The Tamil Nadu government has lost in controlling the COVID 19 pandemic. Without conducting tests widely, the government has been announcing that the number of cases have come down. This is just an act of deceiving the people”, Nehru stressed.
