BJP cultural cell rolls out songs projecting rise of Murugan in Dravidian heartland
Even as the IT wings of AIADMK and the DMK are vying with each other in building the brand of their leaders Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami and DMK president MK Stalin, the ambitious BJP is now rolling out songs and jingles portraying the rise of its state president L Murugan in the Dravidian heartland.

In connection with the controversial Vel yatra, the BJP had released a song Vella Nira Kudiraiyila Karuppasamy varaaru, featuring the schemes of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the rise of L Murugan.
Taking a cue from other parties Murugan is also seen driving tractors, ploughing fields and taking a brisk morning walk. The Pallavi (first few lines) of the song pays rich tributes Tamil god Murugan and says that the state of Tamil Nadu will be a fort of lord of Murugan. The song aimed at reaching out to the southern districts also invokes the name of local Tamil deities Sanguli Karuppa, Suda Muneeswara and Veecharuva Sami (sickle god). According to BJP sources, this is the second such song of the BJP. In October two counter hate speech by Karuppar kuttam, similar songs were released and received good online traction.
The new song under the Vetrivel vel yatra is also now being circulated among the BJP workers and Hindu followers, Kamalayam, BJP headquarters sources said.
The shooting was mostly done in districts featuring the traditional mood of the villagers. Currently, the arrest by the police and demonstrations are also videographed.
As a run-up to the next assembly polls the state BJP cultural cell is working on more such promotional and campaign songs, Kamalayam sources said.
The song also a few frames of AIADMK founder MGR walking along with the paddy fields and invited online criticism from AIADMK cadres asking the BJP not to use the videos of their leader. The song has visuals of Modi, MGR along with Murugan and no other BJP leaders are cast in the promotional songs. The song also blames the Dravidian parties for allegedly promoting corruption and alcoholism among the Tamils.
