DMK MP alleges injustice to TN in Amrut 2.0 fund allocation

CHENNAI: DMK Rajya Sabha MP P Wilson has alleged that injustice was done to Tamil Nadu in allocation of funds under Amrut 2.0 project in comparison with other states. Wilson, who raised an unstarred question in the Rajya Sabha on the details of distribution of fund and budgetary allocation for Amrut 2.0 projects across the country in comparison with Amrut 1.0, posted a reply given by Union Housing Ministry in the Rajya Sabha and said, “Injustice to Tamil Nadu!” As per the reply given by Kaushal Kishore, Union Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs, said the total Central allocation for the Amrut projects for the entire Mission period is Rs 35,990 crore and total Central allocation for Amrut 2.0 projects for the mission period is Rs 66,750 crore. Going by the Minister’s reply, Tamil Nadu was allotted Rs 4,756.58 crore in Amrut 1.0 and Rs 4,935 crore in Amrut 2.0. The Central allocation was low for Tamil Nadu compared to states like Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh.
