Meena cast opposite Rajini after 24 years

Now, we hear that the heroine of the film has also been finalised and the project is likely to go on floors in the second week of December.

Though there were speculations that the makers have approached Nayanthara to play the lead in Siva’s project as well, sources reveal that evergreen actress Meena, who had earlier worked with Rajini in hit films like Muthu, Ejamaan, Veera and Anbulla Rajinikanth, will be teaming up with the actor after almost 24 years.

“Siruthai Siva narrated the script to both Khushbu and Meena, as he felt that they would be perfect for the role. Now, Meena has expressed an interest in the film and they have almost finalised it. An official announcement will be made soon,” the source says.

Meanwhile on Wednesday, the makers of Rajini’s Darbar announcedthat the audio launch of the film was all set to happen in a grand way in the city on December 7. They team has decided to release the film for Pongal 2020.
