We had earlier reported that Akshara Haasan had replaced Shalini Pandey in Naveen’s directorial Agni Siragugal. The latest is that the producer of the film T Siva of Amma Creations has dragged the issue to court and has filed a case against the actress. Talking to DT Next, Siva said, “We were impressed with Shalini’s performance in Arjun Reddy and decided to bring her on board for Agni Siragugal. She did 100 Percent Kaadhal for a remuneration of Rs 10 lakh and gave 100 days for my film for Rs 35 lakh. We gave her Rs 15 lakh as advance for which she shot for 27 days. The portions that involve Arun Vijay and Vijay Antony were to be shot in December in Kazakhstan and Shalini couldn’t allocate dates. She said that she had signed a contract with Yash Raj Films for her Hindi films and she didn’t mind walking out of this project for Jayeshbhai Jordar.”
The producer revealed that Akshara was the initial choice to play the heroine in Agni Siragugal. “Naveen had in fact penned the character with Akshara in mind and had approached her while she shot for Shamitabh. However, we have reshot the portions that Shalini had shot for over 25 days. I have taken the legal route defame Shalini but to recover losses I had incurred,” he concluded. We tried to reach Shalini Pandey but she was unavailable for comment.
