Composer Anirudh faces flak from cine musicians’ union

Composer Dhina, president of Tamil Cinema Musician association, made heads turn by accusing young sensation Anirudh Ravichander for not abiding by the rules of the association. He condemned the musician for not supporting its members by giving opportunities in his films.

Dhina said, “We have been requesting Anirudh for some time now to use musicians from our association for his upcoming projects. Though Anirudh agreed to do so, he never took necessary steps to contact the members of the association. Our executive committee members sent him a letter again and asked not to use any non-members of the association for Darbar. However, he completed the re-recording of such a big film by roping in only four muscians from the association. We were shocked to know that he had boycotted our musicians this time, too.” He added, “Big musicians like him should help our members and give them better opportunities. We had recently adopted a resolution and sent it to all music directors. Tamil composers have to make use of our members in all their upcoming projects. If International musicians are used, our musicians should also be given chances.”

Anirudh is yet to respond to the allegations made against him. Other musicians, too, haven’t commented anything regarding the issue.
