“The idea of Thalaikoothal was something that our audience hasn’t witnessed on screen before. Me, Madhu and Vijay (Madhu’s husband and the editor of KD) have been friends for a long time. When she discussed the script, I immediately told Madhu that I want to be a part of this film,” Karthikeya Murthy told DT Next. He also added that he is likely to collaborate with Madhumita and Vijay for yet another film. “It is too early though to talk about it,” said the composer.
Coming from a family of musicians, Karthikeya Murthy, a seventh generation musician in his family, said that he doesn’t have the pressure to prove himself. “The indie scene in the city has also been growing and we have been exploring with varied instruments and genres of music. We have created a new platform, which is more like a marketplace that invites aspiring music producers to create their own music. That is the need of the hour. These music can be later used in films or any other platforms it could fit into,” he told us. Talking about his upcoming projects, he revealed, “I have signed a couple of untitled Tamil films and also will make my Bollywood debut in February if things fall in place.”
