Madhubala in Thalaivi as Janaki, back with Arvind after 28 years

Arvind Swami is currently shooting for his portions in Thalaivi in which he plays former Chief Minister MG Ramachandran. The actor almost resembled MGR and the look went on to become a sensation. Now, in a casting coup of sorts, director Vijay has roped in Madhubala to play MGR’s wife Janaki Ramachandran. Another interesting addition to the cast is Poorna, who was last seen in Kaapaan, is playing Jayalalithaa’s aide Sashikala in Thalaivi. Earlier, reports had it that Priyamani will be playing the role in the film. Now, sources have told us that Poorna has been officially confirmed to play the role.

The makers will also release, the second look poster of the film on the occasion of J Jayalalithaa’s 74th birth anniversary on Monday. The poster features Kangana Ranaut in the makeover of Jayalalithaa of the early 80s when she joined MG Ramachandran’s political party AIADMK. Kangana in this poster, looks convincing as Jayalalithaa after the first look poster of the film upset people. Directed by Vijay, Thalaivi is jointly produced by Vishnu Vardhan Induri and Shailesh R Singh and will release worldwide in three languages on April 26.
