The trailer of the film was launched by Jayam Ravi while the team was at the premises and Rajdeep plays it for us. “Rajdeep is an associate of Mohan Raja and you could see the film is visually appealing. It is a heist thriller and the film came to me after Thuppaki Munai,” says Vikram Prabhu.

The actor will be playing a role with negative shades in the film that revolves around bank robbery. Vikram Prabhu says that he had absolutely no apprehensions in taking up the role. “I have been doing a variety of roles and haven’t shied away from experimenting. Moreover, the film has a strong backstory, which is convincing enough for the audience to justify my character in the film,” he adds. Mahima Nambiar was seen riding a bike in the trailer. The actress says that there is more to it. “I play a powerful character in Asuraguru. My role is that of a detective and people will see me riding a bike and even smoking in the film. I’m glad that this role came to me because no actress would have turned it down. Moreover, I attended a workshop prior to the shoot and that helped me understand my character better. I believe that the onus is on me to choose good films ever since Kuttram 23 happened. I’m definitely not game for running around trees and being a mere prop to heroes.” The 118-minute film will see actor Jagan playing Vikram Prabhu’s friend. “My character in the film is Jagan as well. We both were raised in the same orphanage. I’m glad that my role is of a huge prominence in the film. If you cut out my portions off the film or mute my dialogues, the story will be left hanging. It is a well-written role by Rajdheep,” says Jagan.

The director joins the conversation and tell us that much like his mentor Mohan Raja, he had his own data analytics team to back the story. “We have added minute detailing to the story. We studied how a few robberies were done with new techniques. Would you believe that there is a liquid that robbers to the wall so that it creates an opening for them to enter,” he asks. “Asuraguru is a film with such details and commercial elements that our audience look for in a film,” concludes Vikram Prabhu.
