‘To work with Priyan and Lalettan is a blessing’
Actress Komal Sharma, who made her debut with SA Chandrasekhar’s Sattapadi Kuttram in 2011, has quite a few biggies in the pipeline.
Chennai
She will be seen in Mohanlal’s upcoming film Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham that is scheduled to hit the screens on March 26. “To be directed by Priyadarshan sir and share screen space with Lalettan is any actor’s dream-come-true. I play a princess in Marakkar, which is crucial to the storyline. I would give away the spoiler if I divulge more about my role,” the actress told DT Next.
On working with ace director, Priyadarshan, the actress said, “With Priyan sir behind the camera, the task for an artiste is cut out well and he makes it easier. He enacts each and every character to perfection. I observed him at close quarters and I’m glad that I have pulled it off the way he wanted it to be.” Post Marakkar, the actress will also be seen in Priyadarshan’s Bollywood film Hungama 2. “I was offered the film while I shot for Marakkar. When I was shooting for Hungama 2, I had an idea of the improvisations he would look for in a character. Coming from a Hindi-speaking family, I brought in my own extemporisations as well.”
The actress, who was also a part of Mohanlal’s previous film Ittymaani: Made in China, said that the actor is the epitome of humility. “I was new to Malayalam then and I couldn’t get a few words right. He helped me pronounce my lines. Apart from his acting, it’s his humility that I look up to,” added Komal.
Despite being flooded with Malayalam and Hindi films, she said that she is looking forward to working in Tamil films. “Being born and raised in Chennai, I would never shift my focus to another industry. I hope to sign good projects in Tamil this year,” she concluded.
