Hansika’s 50th film Maha is in its final leg of shooting. The director of the film U R Jameel, told DT Next, “We had originally planned to shoot for the final 10 days of Maha from March 17. Due to COVID-19, the shooting is put on hold.”

Jameel added that the last schedule of shoot will feature the star ensemble of Simbu, Hansika, Mahath and Sanam Shetty. “Mahath and Sanam are the latest addition to the star cast of Maha. They will be seen in prominent roles in portions that feature Simbu and Hansika.” According to the director, Maha will portray the actress in a different avatar. “There have been reports that Hansika will be seen fighting the villain, which are completely baseless rumours. Maha is an emotional film with necessary commercial elements,” he added.
Talking about the star cast of the film, he said, “Srikanth, Thambi Ramaiah and Karunakaran play crucial roles in Hansika’s portions of the film. In Simbu’s portions, the audience will see Mahath and Sanam’s characters being prominent. Moreover, Simbu’s presence in the film has made it bigger than what we had initially planned. We initially hesitated to approach him to ask if he could play an extended cameo of a pilot. It was Hansika, who told us that she would approach Simbu and he immediately agreed. I’m grateful to her as I found a friend for life in Simbu. We will wrap up the film in Chennai in a week once the shoot resumes.”
