Soorarai Pottru all set to release in August

Suriya’s next big flick, Soorarai Pottru which was supposed to release in April was shelved owing to the coronavirus pandemic lockdown. The latest update is that the movie is set to release in August sources associated with the production crew disclosed to DT Next. The movie continues to gain hype among fans following the release of its songs.

Recently, GV Prakash who composed the music for this film, shared a behind-the-scenes footage titled, Making of Maara — Part 1, which was well. The clip was released on Tamil New Year’s day and showed the lead star Suriya undergoing intense physical training for his role. Suriya is set to portray a 19-year-old villager in the movie.

Fans have also loved the song Maara as it continues to clock over 3.4 million views. Directed by Sudha Kongara of Irudhi Suttru fame, Soorarai Pottru is loosely based on the life of Air Deccan owner founder GR Gopinath. Soorarai Pottru also stars Aparna Balamurali, Mohan Babu and Paresh Rawal. Produced by Suriya’s 2D Entertainment, the film marks the southern debut of well-known Bollywood producer Guneet Monga, who will be co-producing this project.
