Post Feb mishap, Indian 2 team to shift to new location
The makers have decided to relocate to Binny Mills near the airport after a crane collapsed killing three technicians in February at EVP Studios
Chennai
Kamal Haasan-Shankar’s magnum opus Indian 2 was announced in 2017. Since then there have been several delays in the film’s shoot. Just as the shoot was picking up, a huge crane collapsed on the film’s set in EVP Studios on February 19 and killed three people. While the shoot was all set to resume on March 23 at an outdoor location, the shoot was again called off due to lockdown. The latest update is that the team has decided to resume the shoot of the film once the government lifts the lockdown next month.
A source in the know of things told DT Next, “Considering the situation, it is not safe to shoot outdoors as crowds would gather. So, the team has decided to erect a huge set at Binny Mills premises near the airport and shoot there. Shankar and his team will also assess the safety standards of the sets after it is put up.” Directed by Shankar, Indian 2 is the sequel to his blockbuster film Indian, which released in 1996. The film also features Siddharth, Kajal Aggarwal, Rakul Preet Singh, Priya Bhavani Shankar and Vivekh in pivotal roles.
