‘Chakra will be high on technical and visual aspects’: Director MS Anandan
The trailer of Vishal’s Chakra will release in four languages on Saturday. The director of the film MS Anandan said that the response to the glimpse of the trailer last week was overwhelming.

“The trailer glimpse last week was just a couple of cuts from what you will see from the trailer today. Initially, we planned to release it only in two languages. However, the film as well as the trailer have shaped up so well that Mohanlal, Yash and Rana Daggubati have come forward to release it in their respective languages,” he says. The film, produced by Vishal Film Factory, carried on their post-production work during lockdown. “I’m worried about how things will get back to normal and when shoots will resume. We have seven more days of shoot left. Fortunately, those are scenes that doesn’t require a huge crowd. So, we will complete it as soon as the lockdown is lifted. The story has a Chennai backdrop and has been completely shot in the city,” he reveals.
Anandan, a debutant, says that he feels fortunate to have Vishal as a producer as well as an actor for his maiden venture. “He always remained an actor on the sets. He is a director’s delight both as an actor and a producer. He never compromised on the technical and visual aspects of the film. You would see a police station in the film but in a new setup. In Chakra we have done away with the clichéd atmosphere of a Tamil film setting,” adds the director. The film was initially reported as the sequel to Vishal’s Irumbu Thirai 2. “Chakra, like Irumbu Thirai, revolves around cybercrime. However, this is a standalone film and has nothing similar to Irumbu Thirai.”
