Ilayaraja vacates his chamber from Prasad Studios after long battle
Music composer has vacated the Prasad Studios recording facility on Monday.
Chennai
The Madras High Court on Wednesday put an end to the feud between music composer Ilayaraja and proprietors of Prasad Studios by imposing certain conditions, while allowing him to collect his belongings from the recording theatre.
Following the judgement, the music composer has vacated the recording facility on Monday morning.
It was earlier said that Ilayaraja would do meditation today before vacating his equipment from the studio. His decision to vacate the premises hogged headlines.
“Maestro was upset with developments and he will not turn up today. We have vacated the premises and all equipment will be taken away by today evening,” his spokesperson said. He also raised complaint that Ilayaraja’s room was broke open. But the studio management reportedly told the court that everything was safe.
The musician used the recording unit in Prasad Studio for over 35 years. He was denied access after the owners decided to lease out the premises for an IT company.
Ilayaraja had earlier sought Rs 50 lakh as compensation for mental agony caused due to forcible eviction.
