Pudukai firm claims to be world’s largest supplier of teeth
While information was hard to come by during investigations into the trade of cadaver parts, efforts to purchase them online did reveal the website of a company in Tamil Nadu.

Chennai
Based out of Pudukkottai, ‘B for Bones’ claims to be the largest supplier of teeth in the world — at attractive prices. The firm, the website of which claims to be “the world’s leading suppliers of real human tooth specimens”, stated that it was committed to providing legally and ethically obtained tooth specimens to educational, medical and research communities.
“The company is proud to offer first-class quality real human teeth. Every tooth is meticulously cleaned and prepared in our laboratories with great care and dignity. This attention to detail results in the highest quality human teeth available for medical research and educational needs,” the website describes in detail.
The products on sale included a set of 50 ‘real human teeth’ that costs approximately Rs 12,000, and additional shipping charge of Rs 1,800; a set of 100 is priced at Rs 24,000, and a set of 200 would cost about Rs 46,500. There are other sets – molars, premolars, central and lateral incisors among others.
When DTNext got in touch with Dr G Rajesh Kannan, ‘owner and president’ of the firm, he claimed the Pudukkottai address was given in the website as he was a native of the district.
“The sale of teeth happens only in Canada. We are not carrying out any such sale here in India,” he said.
When probed further, Dr Kannan said, “How can I do business with real human teeth? Is there any sort of such business held anywhere?” He later said that the website has not been functional since 2011, except for the other products such as dental posters and scans.
When asked about his contact details listed on the website, Dr Kannan said that he did not know anything about it. “I have not visited the website and have no knowledge about the contact details,” he said.
