One more held for gunpoint robbery at jewellery shop
The Mambalam police have arrested one more person for threatening and robbing a jewellery shop owner at gunpoint.

Nine persons have already been remanded in judicial custody in connection with the case. Investigating the case, the police team traced one more person, identified as G Prabakaran (46) of Kolathur, to his hideout and arrested him. He was remanded him in judicial custody on Monday.
The incident happened on November 13 when a gang barged into the cabin of Siva Arul Durai at his jewellery shop in T Nagar and threatened him to part with Rs 1 crore. After he alerted police, a team rushed to the spot and secured nine of them while some of them escaped.
The main accused, P Dhanasekar, had bought jewellery in the shop and demanded Rs 15 lakh from the owner claiming that the jewels were of sub-standard quality. After receiving the sum, he returned a few days later with a gang of men and threatened him to part with Rs 1 crore.
