IIT to organise training for principals, teachers
The board has also requested the institutes to charge only a reasonable fee for such programmes to facilitate the participation of not only the well-resourced school, but also the ones situated in remote areas and most educationally backward regions in the country.
Chennai
After successfully collaborating with the Indian Institute of Management, Indian Institute of Technology and other such premier institutions to organise professional development programmes for its principals and teachers, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has urged the IIMs to explore the possibility of designing short-term courses to offer to principals and teachers ofÂ
private independent schools affiliated to it.
The board has also requested the institutes to charge only a reasonable fee for such programmes to facilitate the participation of not only the well-resourced school, but also the ones situated in remote areas and most educationally backward regions in the country.
To address the issues concerning the quality of education in the schools affiliated to it, the Board organises trainings for teachers in various subjects and other core skills related to school education through its regional training centres.Â
This is done after realising that school principals, being the administrative and academic head of their institution, have a challenging leadership role and need continuous training and platform for exchange of ideas and practices, said a statement from CBSE.
For this, the Board organises leadership training programmes for principals, focusing on their multiple roles and responsibilities, provide space to examine issues that most principals face today, and facilitate evolving a tactical response for a better future adaptability of schools, the statement added.
