The Koyambedu police secured two suspects of a four-member gang who posed as IT sleuths and robbed a businessman at Nerkundram a week ago.

Venkatesh and Senthilkumar were secured from Tirunelveli on Wednesday. The police suspect the involvement of the victim’s family members in the crime. The incident happened on January 13 when the gang Mohammed Noorulla’s house at Pallavan Nagar in Nerkundram. They showed identity cards claiming to be I-T officials and took eight sovereigns and Rs 1.5 lakh. When Noorullah opposed, they attacked him and fled the spot.
