Pilot detects technical snag before take-off
As many as 127 persons, including a five-member crew, onboard a flight had a narrow escape as the pilot detected a technical snag when the flight was on the runway ready for the take-off at Chennai on Sunday evening.

The SpiceJet flight was bound for Guwahati. After the snag was detected, the departure was abandoned and the flight was pulled back to the taxiway with the help of trucks. Passengers were made to alight and sent back to resting hall. The flight was attended by a technical crew to resolve the snag.
Meanwhile, a 74-year-old died mid-air after he developed chest pain on a Chennai-bound Indigo flight from Ahmadabad on Sunday. The deceased, Vaidyanathan of Kodambakkam, was returning to the city with his wife when he complained of chest pain. He was given first aid by the flight crew. But he died by the time the flight landed. His body was sent to Chromepet Government General Hospital for post-moertem examination.
