Inspector's daughter tests positive for COVID-19
A city police inspector’s daughter has tested positive for COVID-19 and has been admitted to Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital (RGGGH).
Chennai
The inspector of Flower Bazaar police station resides in an apartment in Shenoy Nagar. A doctor and his wife living in the same apartment had tested positive for COVID-19 recently, following which other residents of the apartment were subjected to medical tests.
The results showed that the inspector’s daughter was COVID positive. The family members have been quarantined and blood samples were taken from them for the tests again.
Sources said that since the inspector was hospitalised for other medical reasons in the last week, he did not contract coronavirus.
Meanwhile, the two constables, including a policewoman from Nungambakkam, who were taken to Omandurar hospital on Tuesday night after they were suspected to have contracted COVID-19, tested negative for the virus.
A police official said that since they were tested negative they could be discharged over the night.
Meanwhile, a 46-year-old home guard was tested positive for COVID-19 in Ayanavaram.
