InKo Centre, in association with the Indian Art Museum in Seoul, Korea, will be releasing Emerging Canvas: an e-compendium that displays 132 emerging artists from India and Korea showcased over 6 editions of curated exhibitions, held in Chennai and Seoul respectively from 2012 to 2019.
Chennai
The e-compendium will be released on July 16 at 6 pm and can be accessed on the InKo Centre website. Emerging Canvas is an annual exhibition series, presented in India and Korea to showcase the work of talented, emerging young artists from both countries. Each carefully curated edition of the series presented 22 artists – 11 each from each country.
The Korean section of this series was curated by the Indian Art Museum under Kim Yang-shik, who over the past four decades has dedicated herself to the promotion of Indian art and culture in general and of Rabindranath Tagore’s work and philosophy, in particular, in Korea.
The Indian section has been curated by independent curator, Vaishnavi Ramanathan, diligently capturing the wealth of emerging talent across India.
