College lecturer held under Pocso Act for sexual assault on minor student

The accused Lokesh (26) of Villivakkam was working as a lecturer at a private college in Arumbakkam where the victim was pursuing the first year of her bachelor’s degree. Police said the duo developed a relationship and in September, Lokesh allegedly sexually assaulted her at his house on the promise of marriage. However, Lokesh recently got engaged to another girl and started avoiding the victim. After she informed her parents, a complaint was lodged at Villivakkam police station. Lokesh was arrested under Pocso Act after investigation and remanded.
