    CHENNAI: Chennai Police on Friday arrested a 23-year-old youth who targeted and stole two-wheelers parked inside Rajiv Gandhi Government General hospital. Police seized around 12 two wheelers from him, which were dumped at Narikurava colony in Ennore.

    The arrested person was identified as J Ganesan (23) of Panruti.

    Police were acting on complaints from doctors and patients who reported their two wheelers stolen over the past month.

    Even on Thursday, the government hospital police had received a complaint from a medical student about a stolen two-wheeler. The female student who is staying in the Madras Medical College hostel had parked her two-wheeler near Tower block-3. On August 7, when she came to take her bike, it was missing, police said.

    On August 15, police had received a complaint from an attender whose bike was stolen. He was in the hospital for ten days by the side of his mother, who was undergoing treatment at the hospital. His bike was parked near Tower-2, police said.

    After repeated complaints, police perused the CCTV footages and based on the information, they traced the suspect. The arrested person was produced before a magistrate and remanded in judicial custody.
