Police arrest 34-year-old for chain snatching near Koyembedu
The woman with the help of public managed to catch hold of the snatcher before he could escape and handed him over to the police.
CHENNAI: City police on Tuesday arrested a 34-year-old man who snatched the mobile phone of a woman waiting for her bus near the Chennai Mofussil Bus Terminus (CMBT), Koyambedu.

Devi (40), a flower vendor from Vellore district, had come to Koyambedu to buy flowers. After her purchase she was waiting near the entrance of CMBT, when the accused snatched her phone.
Devi raised alarms and public caught hold of the man and took him to the local police station.
After investigations, CMBT police arrested K Ramraj (34) of Katpadi, Vellore district. Police investigations revealed that the arrested person was working with a caterer in the city.
He was produced before a magistrate and remanded in judicial custody.
