Man seeks sexual favours from woman in spa, ends up in jail

CHENNAI: A 25-year-old man who went to a spa and beauty salon on Arcot road, Virugambakkam allegedly tied up a woman worker after assaulting the woman staff there after she refused to his demand of sexual act and robbed jewellery from the woman, half of which turned up to be imitation gold.
The man, K Suresh of Anakaputhur, was arrested by the Virugambakkam police on Tuesday, based on a complaint from the woman.
According to police, the incident happened on October 5. Suresh who works as a construction worker went to the spa around 11 am and had asked for a massage.
After a while, the man asked the woman staff in the parlour for sexual favours. When she refused, Suresh got angry and started abusing the woman. He then tied her up in a chair and robbed her of earrings and chain she was wearing and fled the scene.
The woman who managed to untie herself after a struggle and alerted the authorities. Based on her complaint, Virugambakkam police registered a case and after perusing the CCTV footage, zeroed in on the suspect. He was arrested and police recovered the jewellery from him. “He had thought the jewellery was gold, but only the four grams earrings are gold while the gold chain was imitation jewellery, ” a police official said.
He was produced before a magistrate and remanded in judicial custody.
