Surrogacy soup: Surrogate mother identified as Nayan's relative

CHENNAI: After initiating a probe into Kollywood couple Vignesh Shivan and Nayanthara's surrogate parenthood, it is learned that a woman, a relative of Nayanthara, had agreed to be the surrogate mother.

The woman, who hasn't been named, is a native of Kerala who is based in Dubai according to Daily Thanthi reports. The report further stated that the woman was taking care of Nayanthara's businesses in Dubai.

Also, the hospital that has performed surrogacy too has been identified in the probe.

Legal trouble seems likely, though Indian laws can't bind citizens of other nations, as surrogacy is banned in Dubai. This could put the hospital in a fix too.

Recently wed couple Vignesh Shivan and Nayanthara were in a spot after Wikki announced that they have become parents to twin boys. Controversy erupted with questions posed at the legality of their choice of parenting.

Health Minister Ma Subramanian ordered a probe by forming a 3-member committee to look into the matter.
