Two held for selling ganja near school

CHENNAI: Cops arrested Abdul Ghaffar (45) and Munvar Miyan (45) for possession of about 10 kg of ganja in Royapettah two days ago. They delivered the contraband at near a private school and a corporation playground in Gopalapuram after their ‘clients’ contacted them through WhatsApp, investigations revealed. Based on a tip off, the Royapettah police formed a special team to apprehend the suspects. When they were caught red-handed, they gave contradictory answers after which they were detained. Police found 10 kg of dry ganja in white plastic bags. Investigations revealed that they sourced the ganja from other states and sold them to regular clients. Police also secured Rs 40,000 cash. The duo was remanded to judicial custody.
