Vikram Prabhu’s Love Marriage is a smooth family entertainer

CHENNAI: The first look of Vikram’s Prabhu’s Love Marriage was unveiled by the makers, Assure Films Swetha and Rise East Entertainment Sreenidhi Sagar, on Wednesday. Helmed by Shanmugha Priyan, an erstwhile associate of Anand Shankar, the first look features the film’s cast at the backdrop of a wedding that takes place in a home in south Tamil Nadu. Vikram Prabhu and the female lead of the film, Meenakshi Dinesh are hesitantly seated next to each other during the wedding feast while the family has a close watch on them, with different emotions. “Firstly, Love Marriage is a romantic comedy and will be a family entertainer. The film revolves around a man who is above 30 and gets married. Whether or not he handles the wedding meticulously and what would be the outcome is what the story is all about,” director Shanmugha Priyan told DT Next.
He said that Vikram Prabhu is a cooperative actor and keeps the team in a comfortable zone. “He plays a person who is above 30 years of age and is on the verge of getting married. He has to handle the insecurities he is going through. Vikram Prabhu has handled the role really well and will excel as a performer upon the film’s release,” added the filmmaker.
It is unusual to see actors like Aruldoss and Ramesh Thilak in family entertainers. “Every family has an uncle, who has a different ideology and is seen as a villain. That is what Aruldoss’s role in Love Marriage is. And there will be a friend, who is like a family, which Ramesh Thilak plays. Then there is Muruganantham, who plays an emotional role. Kodangi Vadivelu plays a broker. Sathyaraj sir will be seen in an important cameo in the movie. The wedding happens between a family in Usilampatti and Gobichettipalayam. Their dialects are different and the way they address people too is totally different. This creates a ruckus in the wedding. We have shown that in a lighter vein,’ remarked Shanmugha Priyan.
The shoot of Love Marriage is complete and is in post-production stages. “We will be taking the first out of the film soon. The shoot was initially planned for 35 days and we completed it in a month’s time. Other announcements will follow,” he told us. Love Marriage has music by Sean Roldan and cinematography by Madhan Christopher. Bharath Vikraman is in charge of the cuts.
