CHENNAI: A one-day skill development seminar aimed at empowering women, and an exhibition promoting chemical-free products developed by self-help groups, were conducted in the city on Tuesday by Women Entrepreneur Welfare Association, Women’s Service Trust and Loyola College.

The programme was chaired by G Viswanathan, chancellor, Vellore Institute of Technology. The special guests, who participated in the event, included ‘Naturealle’ founder Samyuktha Adityan, Annai Velankanni Education group joint secretary Sri Devi Dev Anand, Repco Bank CEO Isabella and Loyola College principal Louis Arockiaraj.

Speaking on the occasion, ‘Naturealle’ founder Samyuktha elaborated: “The word ‘success’ means different things to different people. It’s not important what others think. The most important thing is that we have to think for ourselves. What we do will explain our character. We have to live authentically and plan our success accordingly. We should not care what others think and say. All our dreams will be fulfilled if we have self-confidence. In my point of view, success is all about bringing joy to others.”

Earlier in the day, awards were also given to the best women entrepreneurs. The awards were given to noted educationist Pinky, social worker Anantha Lakshmi and dubbing artist Prameela.
