Actor Parthiban flags poor food supplied on Vande Bharat train; DRM expresses regret
In his 'X' message, Parthiban said, "The quality of food supplied on board the Vande Bharat train was not of good quality.
CHENNAI: Actor-director Radhakrishnan Parthiban has flagged the 'poor' quality of food supplied on board (Train no 20643) Coimbatore bound Vande Bharat Express from Chennai.
Taking to microblogging site 'X' to flag the issue, Parthiban who was travelling to Coimbatore on October 13, on Monday shared a photograph of the complaint he raised with the railway officials aboard the train about the 'poor' quality of food supplied to the passengers on Vande Bharat express.
In his 'X' message, Parthiban said, "The quality of food supplied on board the Vande Bharat train was not of good quality. It was not useful to the passengers. Fellow passengers around me murmured that the food was unhygienic. I scribbled a few lines in the complaint book."
"Service of the people (staff) who supplied food on board was good. The train was clean. But the food supplied at 7.22pm, mainly the chicken, was of very bad quality. It is condemnable that such food is being supplied despite collecting high prices for it. Health is essential. Thank you, " said the actor-director in the complaint, in his message 'scribbled' on the complaint book with one Tamilarasan as a witness.
Hours later around quarter past 7pm, the Divisional Railway Manager of Salem Railway Division responded to the complaint and said, "We deeply regret the inconvenience caused. The concerned licensee is being taken up for the service deficiency. Also, the base kitchen and on board inspection are being intensified to improve the food quality."
