COIMBATORE: Wrapping up the second day of inquiry against Isha Yoga Centre on Wednesday around 8 pm, Coimbatore Superintendent of Police K Karthikeyan said they had completed the inquiry process, and a report will be submitted to the court.

“Health department staff, food safety authorities, and psychologists were also part of the inquiry team on the second day. Details of foreigners staying at Isha Yoga Centre have been gathered. The criminal cases against Isha were taken up for inquiry, and those who gave them were also probed,” the SP told media.

The inquiry was made following the Madras High Court’s directive on the issue of the illegal detention of two women based on a habeas corpus petition filed by Dr S Kamaraj, a retired professor from Tamil Nadu Agricultural University.

The petitioner claimed that his two daughters were kept in captivity at the Isha Foundation after brainwashing them.

However, Isha Yoga Centre refuted these allegations and claimed they were staying only out of their volition.
