No entry to fascist forces under CM Stalin’s secular govt: PK Sekarbabu

CHENNAI: Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (HR&CE) Minister PK Sekarbabu on Tuesday said that the Erode East byelection is a prelude to the forthcoming Assembly polls and expressed confidence that DMK would secure a massive victory and retain the government in 2026.

Sekarbabu stated that the Chief Minister MK Stalin-led secular government leaves no scope for fascist forces to gain a foothold in the State. “We are in alliance with the people of the State. The results of the Erode East bypoll are proof of this. The candidates who contested against the DMK forfeited their deposits. This is a prelude. We are confident of winning more than 200 seats in the 2026 Assembly elections. Chief Minister MK Stalin-led government will retain power (in the 2026 Assembly polls),” said the minister after participating in a programme organised at Vallalar Illam to mark the Thai Pusam celebration. He inaugurated annadhanam at the event.

Elaborating on the measures taken by the DMK government through the HRC&CE department, the minister said the government had allocated Rs 3.25 crore to organise a series of art and literary programmes as part of the ‘Vallalar-200’ celebration. He also unveiled the logo to mark the bicentenary of Vallalar’s birth. The government has issued an order to establish the Vallalar International Centre with Rs 99.9 crore, and construction has commenced, he added. Communal forces attempted to stop the government’s efforts to build the Vallalar International Centre by approaching the court, but their ill-conceived agenda fell flat, he said.

“Since this government is promoting pro-secular ideologies and communal harmony, it prevents the entry of fascist forces and their anti-secular and communal politics in the State,” he said.
