State Transport Undertakings to operate special buses for weekend rush
An official release said that passengers are encouraged to utilise the special services for a comfortable and hassle-free journey.

CHENNAI: With an expected increase in passenger movement across Tamil Nadu due to the upcoming weekend and holidays on February 14 (Friday), February 15 (Saturday), and February 16 (Sunday), the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) has announced special bus services along with the regular daily services.
An official release said that passengers are encouraged to utilise the special services for a comfortable and hassle-free journey.
From Kilambakkam bus terminal to Tiruvannamalai, Trichy, Kumbakonam, Madurai, Tirunelveli, Nagercoil, Kanyakumari, Thoothukudi, Coimbatore, Salem, Erode, and Tiruppur, 245 special buses will be operated on February 14 and 240 on February 15.
From Koyambedu to Tiruvannamalai, Nagapattinam, Velankanni, Hosur, and Bengaluru, 51 special buses will run on February 14 and 15.
Additionally, 20 special buses will run from Madhavaram on both February 14 and 15.
To ensure hassle-free travel for passengers returning to Chennai and Bengaluru after the weekend, TNSTC has planned special buses from all major locations on February 16 (Sunday).
To avoid last-minute congestion, passengers are advised to pre-book their tickets via the official TNSTC website (www.tnstc.in) or the mobile app. As of now, 6,332 passengers have booked tickets for Friday (Feb 14), 2,912 for Saturday (Feb 15), and 6,792 for Sunday (Feb 16).
TNSTC has deployed additional officials at bus terminals to monitor the special operations and ensure smooth passenger movement.
