Banker by profession, Bodybuilder by passion: Chennai man wins big at international event
Karthik Nazar has become the first person from Chennai to win silver medal in the International Federation of body building (IFBB) pro league held in Malaysia in 2019.

Jammy aka Karthik Nazar hailing from Chennai is yet another underrated sportsman in Tamil Nadu. He is working in the BNP banker as a portfolio analyst who is also a successful bodybuilder since 2006. Now he has emerged to be the first person from Chennai to win silver medal in the International Federation of body building (IFBB) pro league held in Malaysia in 2019. He also won bronze medal in the men’s physique.
Jammy’s passion for athletics started when he was as young as a high-schooler. About 16 years back, body building became his cornerstone for his passion. Although he couldn’t make it as an athlete because of the lack of Sponsors, his spirits didn’t flutter as he started focusing on bodybuilding, the sport.
He trained and participated in the Mr. Chennai competition held by NABBA/WFF in the year 2016 and won silver medal as a result of his perseverance, dedication and hard work. Jammy further participated in the Mr. Chennai 2017 competition held in Punjab and once again won a silver medal flaunting his consistency as a bodybuilder, after which he was qualified for Mr. Asia.
Yet another feather was added to his cap when he became the first person from Chennai to win the sports model pro card in Singapore. In order to crown his achievements, it is noted that he has also won the Mr. Tamil Nadu championship a number of times.
Even after all his achievements he says that the ultimate goal in his life is to train the young talents in Tamil Nadu and present them with the opportunity to compete in bodybuilding competitions.
