    Home side Tamil Nadu had to settle for a solitary point as it had conceded the first innings lead to the visitor. Baroda, which had a first innings advantage of 55, added 80 runs for the loss of four wickets to its overnight second innings total of 207 for three before declaring. Tamil Nadu was therefore set a target of 343 on the final day – Saturday. Chasing an improbable score, the host was cautious in its approach, making 138 for two in 40 overs.
