CFC sends Memo to other clubs with Moura signing

Having spent the previous three seasons at Jamshedpur FC (JFC), free agent Memo put pen to paper with the two-time ISL champion. The 32-year-old Brazilian is known for his versatility as he can operate as a defensive midfielder and central defender.

“I am delighted to be a part of the Chennaiyin family. It is a pity that we won’t be able to feel the warmth of the fans in the stands. But, they will be in our thoughts. We have to work hard and stay united to achieve glory. A unique ISL season awaits us, which will be a spectacle in itself,” said Memo in a release issued by the club.

CFC head coach Csaba Laszlo stated that new recruit Memo is a solid addition to the squad. “His rich experience in ISL will provide a huge boost for us. We have signed a proven and dependable individual. Memo has the perfect combination of technical adeptness and aggression, something which the youngsters can benefit from,” commented Laszlo.

Memo is Laszlo’s second foreign signing in the summer transfer window, following the arrival of Bosnian centre-back Enes Sipovic. It is to be remembered that CFC has three overseas spots left since Brazilians Eli Sabia and Rafael Crivellaro have been retained for ISL 7.
