As the new NBA season got off to a rip-roaring start on Wednesday, we take a look at the top brother combos who will be in action in the ongoing campaign.
Chennai
The Ball brothers – LaMelo, Lonzo and LiAngelo
- Lonzo and LaMelo are the first pair of brothers to be picked inside the top-5 of the NBA Draft.
- Lonzo was the second overall pick at the 2017 draft and represented Los Angeles Lakers. He later joined New Orleans Pelicans in 2019.
- Youngest sibling LaMelo, a member of Charlotte Hornets, was the third pick for the ongoing season.
- Middle sibling LiAngelo is presently a free agent.
The Curry brothers – Stephen and Seth
- Elder brother Stephen dons the jersey of Golden State Warriors while young brother Seth is a part of Philadelphia 76ers.
- Stephen, one of the best shooters in the NBA history, is a two-time MVP and three-time NBA champion.
- The Curry brothers are sons of Dell Curry, one of the best shooters of his time.
The Antetokounmpo brothers – Giannis, Thanasis and Kostas
- The trio was born and raised in Greece.
- Giannis is a two-time MVP and was the Defensive Player of the Year 2020 while playing for Milwaukee Bucks.
- Giannis’s combination of size, speed and ball-handling skills earned him the nickname “Greek Freak”.
- Thanasis, who played for New York Knicks in the 2015-16 season, reunited with his brother at Milwaukee in the previous campaign.
- Kostas made his debut for Dallas Mavericks in 2019 and later joined LA Lakers on its journey to a championship-winning season.
The Lopez twins – Brook and Robin
- The twins played together only once in the same team – Milwaukee in the 2019-20 season.
- Both of them have played in more than 700 regular season games, starting more than 500 of them.
- While Robin is with Washington Wizards, Brook is a part of Bucks.
The Holiday brothers – Jrue, Justin and Aaron
- In December 2019, the Holiday brothers made history by becoming the first trio to appear in the same match – Jrue played for New Orleans while Justin and Aaron turned out for Indiana Pacers.
- Jrue was traded to Milwaukee a few weeks back.
- Justin, the oldest of the three, was a 2015 NBA champion with Golden State.
- Aaron, the youngest of the trio, made his NBA debut in 2018 with Pacers.
The Morris twins – Marcus and Markieff
- Recently, Marcus re-signed for Los Angeles Clippers while Markieff is back with LA Lakers on a one-year deal after winning the championship with it.
- The twins were together at Phoenix Suns from 2013 to 2015.
