Metro’s AC feeder service from Little Mount to Tidel Park

CMRL had provided feeder service facility from Alandur Metro Station to DLF cyber city IT Park earlier. At present, air-conditioned tempo travellers are already plying between Alandurto DLF.

The tempo traveller service would be part of the CMRL’s last-mile connectivity measures like share auto, share taxi services and mini-bus services by MTC.

In order to improve the ridership through provisions of first and last-mile connectivity for Metro Rail commuters, CMRL has tied up with a company called Bengaluru Megacabs Private Limited for providing feeder services at operational stations through an app-based system developed by Ford Mobility earlier this month.

The proposed feeder operation route covers a distance of 6-8 km from each of the stations, and it would collect passengers from Metro station and drop them at their respective destinations at a fixed fare of Rs 10. The ticketing collection system for this service is also integrated with the Chennai Metro Smart Card system and Chennai Metro Rail mobile app system.

The app-based feeder service would be operated from Chennai Central, Government Estate, LIC, Thousand Lights, AG-DMS and Nandanam.
