Board exam schedule for classes 5, 8 released
Amid controversies and confusion over conducting board exams for Class 5 and Class 8 this academic year, the state government on Thursday released the examination schedule for both the standards.

An official schedule, released by the Directorate of Government Examinations, said for Class 5 students the board exam begins on April 15 and ends on April 20.
Accordingly, on April 15, the students will appear for Tamil examination and after a gap of one day, they would write English paper on April 17. The final Mathematics exam is scheduled for April 20.
The exams will begin at 10 am and would end at 12.15 pm. Reading of question paper will be from 10 am to 10.10 am, filling of students’ particulars will be done from 10.10 am to 10.15 am and the writing duration will be from 10.15 am to 12.15 pm.
Similarly, for Class 8 students, the board exams will begin on March 30 and would end on April 17. Students of Class 8 would be writing exams in five subjects such as Tamil, English, Mathematics, Science and Social Science.
Tamil exam will be conducted on March 30, students will appear for the English exam on April 2, the Mathematics exam will be held on April 8, Science exam will be on April 15 and final Social Science exam will be held on April 17.
Similar to Class 5 students, the exams will begin at 10 and end at 12.15 pm. Reading of question paper will be from 10 am to 10.10 am, filling of students’ particulars will be done from 10.10 am to 10.15 am and the writing duration will be from 10.15 am to 12.15 pm.
