The team first inspected the underground drainage work in the Phase 3 area of Sathuvachari and also the Rs 11 crore multi-level car parking coming up near the Muthu Mandapam on the banks of Palar river.

Baskar sought to know the number of two and four wheelers that could be parked in the proposed facility and also its proposed completion date. He then checked a sketch of the proposed improvements to the new bus stand and asked local officials about the parking slots for town and mofussil buses and rest rooms for passengers. The team then moved to Gandhinagar where they inspected the ongoing underground drainage work, the solid waste management centre and the much delayed water supply schemes in the area. He then ordered the contractors constructing the overhead tanks to ensure that the works were completed on time. They also inspected the ongoing dredging work in the moat of the historic Vellore fort and the proposed tourist facilities at the Otteri lake. Those present included Corporation Commissioner K Krishnamurthy and other officials.
