The police said the brothers, studying for Plus 1 and Class 9 at Kendriya Vidyalaya School on the Air Force Campus at Sulur, were summoned by Principal Mehanathan to check whether they were in possession of mobile phones in the classroom on December 1.

“To check them, the two boys were undressed and sexually assaulted by the principal, while three other women teachers held their hands. The principal also recorded the act on his mobile phone and threatened the boys of uploading it on the social media, if they revealed the incident to anyone,” the police said.

Following the incident, the 15-year-old boy was admitted to Coimbatore Medical College and Hospital (CMCH) for treatment. On receiving a complaint from the boys, the Sulur police registered a case under Sections 7 (sexual assault) and 8 (punishment for sexual assault) of the Pocso Act, Section 66 E of the Information Technology Act and Section 506 (i) (criminal intimidation) on Sunday night.

Meanwhile, on Monday, students skipped classes and sat on protest in front of the school claiming that false cases have been framed against their teachers. The students held placards demanding justice and withdrawal of the cases. Soon, the parents too joined the students in their protest. The principal too denied the charges levelled against him and the teachers.

Traffic was disrupted for a while on the busy Trichy road following the protest. “One of the woman teachers, who was booked, was away in Delhi. Another teacher is handling only Class 5 and she has no connection with the higher grade students. It is a false case,” said a student.

Later, the school principal lodged a complaint against the Plus 1 student and his family for raising fake charges. Based on his complaint, the Sulur police are conducting further inquiries.
