    'Millions apply for 'Kailaasa' citizenship'

    There are rumours that Kailaasa, a borderless state, was being built on an island owned by Ecuador but the south American country has denied them and said Nithyananda was not on its territory.

    Godman Nithyananda has said he will set up his Kailaasa nation at any cost, reports quoting his website said. 

    According to an update on the website, there's overwhelming interest in Kailaasa and four million people have applied for 'citizenship'. 

    There are rumours that Kailaasa, a borderless state, was being built on an island owned by Ecuador but the south American country has denied them and said Nithyananda was not on its territory. 

    The godman said stories about him in the media earlier were meant to divert attention from public issues, but now focus on him has become a full-time job.  

    The godman said there are numerous charges and cases against him in India since 2003 but he is innocent. 

    Police in India has said it was working with Interpol to locate him over charges of child trafficking and sexual offences.
