Tributes paid to MGR on his 32nd death anniversary

Floral tributes were paid to former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and AIADMK founder M G Ramachandran on his 32nd death anniversary here on Tuesday.

Assembly Speaker Sivakozhunthu garlanded the MGR statue in front of the new bus stand.

AIADMK legislature party leader Anbazhagan and legislator Vayyapuri Manikandan and other party functionaries took out a silent procession and garlanded the statue, while another group led by former legislator Om Sakthi Sekhar also garlanded the statue of MGR.

Meanwhie, Mr Sivakozhnthu also garlanded the statue of social activist and father of Dravidian Movement Tahanthai Periyar here to mark his 46th death anniversary.

DMK volunteers led by party South Convener R Siva MLA,volunteers of Dravidar kazhagam and Periyar Dravidar Kazhagam are among others who also garlanded his statue.
