The deceased persons, L Naveen Kumar (25) and S Sukendrakumar Varma (28), both hailing from Bihar, were working in a powerloom unit, owned by one Ramesh at Kavindapadi, near Gobichettipalayam, in Erode district. They were staying in the same unit along with another youth from Bihar.

On Monday morning, Ramesh had gone to the unit, when he found Naveen and Sukendrakumar lying dead in a pool of blood. They bore assault injuries. On receiving information, the Kavindapadi police rushed to the spot and held inquiries.

The finger print experts collected evidence and a sniffer dog, which was pressed into service, ran around the powerloom unit for a while and stood clueless. Preliminary inquiries by the police revealed that Ravindrakumar, who was staying with the deceased duo, had gone missing.

“We suspect Ravindrakumar to have killed the duo by assaulting with an iron rod following some quarrel,” said a cop. The police said that the trio was into the habit of taking ‘ganja’ and consume liquor. They also used to quarrel frequently over various issues.

Sources said that after an intensive search, special teams of police have picked up Ravindrakumar from a hideout and is being questioned in connection with the double murder. Further investigations are on.
