Ponnar’s rants not BJP views, says Jayakumar
Former union minister Pon Radhakrishnan is dejected for some political reasons and habitually levels allegations against the AIADMK government without any facts, AIADMK Minister D Jayakumar said hitting back at the former minister on Tuesday.

The AIADMK will ignore the comments made by the BJP leader and he is contradicting his own party that has given so many awards for Tamil Nadu being the best governed state in law and order.
“When Pon Radhakrishnan was the union minister, he did not come up with any major projects for Tamil Nadu. He did nothing. It was the AIADMK that is getting Central funds and the schemes. After sitting idle for months, the former minister is now venting out his anger against the AIADMK for no reason. I suspect that Radhakrishnan is dejected over on not being appointed as the state BJP president. His anger is unnecessarily aimed at the AIADMK and his behaviour has not changed since the days of Amma (Jayalalithaa),” Jayakumar said adding that AIADMK will ignore the statements of Radhakrishnan as it is not the official version of its ally - BJP.
The response from Jayakumar comes after Radhakrishnan’s criticism that the ruling government in the death of special sub-inspector Wilson had failed to react and discuss the issue. Both the AIADMK and the DMK are silent on the murder of deceased Wilson killed by suspected terrorists. “Tamil Nadu is a training ground for terrorists since Jayalalithaa’s period,” Pon Radhakrishnan said adding that the Rs 1 crore compensation by the AIADMK government is not the solution for terror attacks.
It may be noted that the BJP earlier hit out at ally AIADMK last week saying that the saffron party would had won more seats if had contested without any alliance with the AIADMK in the recently held civic polls for rural local bodies. After eight years, TN went for civic polls on December 2019 in which both DMK and AIADMK chose to ignore the national parties resulting in heated arguments between the NDA and UPA allies.
